Hwang Hee-chan (Wolverhampton) scores his seventh league goal.

Wolverhampton lost 2-3 away to Fulham in the 13th round of the 2023-2024 English Premier League (EPL) at Craven Cottage in London, England, on Monday (Aug. 28). Wolverhampton (15 points) sit 12th in the league.

Hwang Hee-chan started up front alongside Mateusz Cunha. He was in fine form and had a chance early on. In the seventh minute of the first half, Hwang missed a great scoring opportunity when his right-footed mid-range shot after a breakaway hit the post.

After conceding to Fulham’s Alexi Iwobi in the seventh minute, Wolverhampton equalized in the 22nd minute. Hwang’s partner Cunha equalized with a calm finish from a header.

The momentum shifted 14 minutes into the second half when Wolverhampton conceded another penalty through Willian. It was Hwang Hee-chan who stepped up to the plate. In the 28th minute of the second half, Hwang’s characteristically aggressive run and movement took him into the penalty box, where he contested with the opposing defender, and the referee awarded a penalty kick after video assistant referee (VAR) review. 토토사이트

Hwang stepped up to take the spot kick. His calm finish rattled the Fulham net. Hwang reactivated his goal-scoring drought after a three-game layoff against Newcastle United (2-2 draw) in the 10th round on March 29.

With his seventh goal of the league, Hwang also moved back up to fifth in the league scoring charts. He is closely followed by senior national team member Son Heung-min (8 goals – Tottenham). With one goal in the Cup, Hwang now has two assists on the season, giving him double-digit offensive points in all competitions.

However, Wolverhampton were not to be denied despite Hwang’s equalizer. In second-half stoppage time, Harry Wilson was fouled by Fulham’s Juan Gomes, and the referee awarded Fulham a second penalty. Willian converted the penalty, leaving Wolverhampton without a point away from home. In stoppage time, Hwang Hee-chan had one shot on goal, but it went wide.
