Jang Hyun-seok is a pitcher for the Masan Yongmag High School baseball team. He recently signed a contract to join the Los Angeles Dodgers of the U.S. professional baseball team for a contract fee of $900,000 (approximately KRW 1.2 billion), and won a gold medal as the only high school player on the national baseball team at the Hangzhou Asian Games. A great achievement was achieved.

Pitcher Jang Hyun-seok attracted attention during his high school days with his fastball as his main weapon, thanks to his sturdy physique of 190 cm tall and 90 kg weight. Taking note of this, he had the honor of joining the LA Dodgers of the U.S. professional baseball team and pitched two innings in two games at the Hangzhou Asian Games, putting him on par with the best national baseball team players.

Mayor Hong also encouraged Coach Jin Min-soo of Masan Yongma High School, who coached Jang Hyun-seok, for his hard work so far and asked him to continue to make efforts to discover local talent so that he can produce the next and third Jang Hyun-seok.
